  • Public Speaking - Final Class (note ends at 4.45pm)

    Tuesday December 3rd, 2019, 3.15pm — 4.45pm

    Location: SJS Library

    Students will learn about the 3V’s of Public Speaking: the Vocal, Visual, and Verbal.  Topics under the 3V’s will include: 

    • Helpful and hurtful body language 
    • Visual aids 
    • Verbal “distractions” 
    • How to bring a speech to life with your words 
    • How to use your voice to engage the audience 
    • How to craft a speech using the fundamentals of speech structure 

    For students registered for program from Grades 6-8. 

    Note: students should bring a notebook.

  • SJS Special Choir Practice

    Thursday December 5th, 2019, 3.15pm — 4pm

    Location: Grade 7 Classroom

    The SJS Special Choir will practice on Thursdays, 3.15-4pm. They will partake in special events, Mass, and prayer services throughout the year. They will also sing at the SJS Graduation in June.

    Open to students in Grades 3-8. Please contact choir director, Mrs. Haylon with questions.

  • Ski Club Registration Deadline

  • Cookie Decorating - Christmas (class 2 of 2)

    Friday December 6th, 2019, 1pm — 2pm

    Location: Multi-purpose Room

    Fall themed cookies (October) and gingerbread cookies (December) will be decorated by students with “cookie kits” provided by Pursuit of Pastry. Students will be provided 6 holiday themed cookies each, along with icing bags and containers of assorted sprinkles.

  • SJS Band Concert

    Tuesday December 10th, 2019, 1.30pm

    Please join Ms. Hurlburt and the SJS Band for a Christmas Band Concert in the SJS gym.

    SJS Christmas ornaments will be sold before and after the concert in the school lobby. They are wooden ornaments handcrafted by a local artisan. Proceeds from the ornaments benefit St. John School.

    Caroling at Starbucks. Please meet at SJS at 7:50 AM. We will then walk to Starbucks to sing at 8:00am. All are welcome to come support our choir!

  • Christmas Prayer Service - Las Posadas

    All are welcome to the SJS Christmas Prayer Service celebrating Las Posadas beginning in the hallways and culminating in the SJS gymnasium. All are welcome to gather in the gym to greet the Holy Family.
