On Friday, March 16, students enjoyed a rare dress down day organized by SJS vice Principal Mrs. Tina Greene. In lieu of wearing school uniforms, students and faculty had the opportunity to wear green for a free will donation to Camp Rising Sun in honor of SJS’s beloved sexton who passed away in 2015 after his courageous battle with cancer.
Camp Rising Sun’s mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for kids who have faced the diagnosis of cancer so that they may grow and learn from their experiences to become the best they can be.
When loved ones die, we grieve at being separated, but our faith gives us hope. In life Mr. Greene strived for perfection, as a father, grandfather, husband, and friend. SJS is proud to remember our dear friend by donating to a worthy cause such as Camp Rising Sun. SJS students raised $660 for Camp Rising Sun.
