    SJS Remembers 9/11

    St. John School students, faculty & staff held a remembrance ceremony today on the 18th anniversary of 9/11. Mother Elaine, Principal read the book “Fireboat” to students in memory of those who lost their lives. Prayers were offered for them and their families.     The 8th Grade Graduation Prayer Service for the class of 2019 took place on Friday, June 7 in the SJS gymnasium.     Grade 1 & 3 Visit Bushy Hill - Native American Teachings

    Grade 1 & 3 together boarded the bus to visit Bushy Hill, Ivoryton last week. They were also accompanied by Kindergarten who explored the wetlands and tidal pools at Bushy Hill. Grades 1 & 3 learned how dependent the Native Americans were on buffalos. They travelled with the buffalos on the American plains. They got to go inside a wigwam… Read Article

    SJS 5th Grade Students complete D.A.R.E. Program

    D.A.R.E. envisions a world in which students everywhere are empowered to respect others and choose to lead lives free from violence, substance use, and other dangerous behaviors.  On May 21, SJS 5th graders visited the Old Saybrook Police station to complete the D.A.R.E program with a graduation ceremony.  Students wrote essays on what they learned throughout the  year.  Two essays were selected to be… Read Article
