• SJS Band Lesson - Advanced Band

  Tuesday November 19th, 2019, 8am

  Location: Music Room

  Advanced Band Lessons are at 8am each Tuesday and again during the day on a rotational basis. 

  Cadet (younger/new student band) is during recess on Tuesdays and again during the day on a rotational basis. 

• Cadet Band Open House

  Tuesday November 19th, 2019, 1pm — 1.30pm

  Location: SJS Art & Music Room

  Join the cadet band for rehearsal and open house. Come along to hear how they practice.

• Public Speaking

  Tuesday November 19th, 2019, 3.15pm — 4.30pm

  Location: SJS Library

  Students will learn about the 3V’s of Public Speaking: the Vocal, Visual, and Verbal.  Topics under the 3V’s will include: 

  • Helpful and hurtful body language 

  • Visual aids 

  • Verbal “distractions” 

  • How to bring a speech to life with your words 

  • How to use your voice to engage the audience 

  • How to craft a speech using the fundamentals of speech structure 


  For students registered for program from Grades 6-8. 

  Note: students should bring a notebook.

• Ski Club Parent Meeting

  Tuesday November 19th, 2019, 5pm

  Location: St. John Library

  Parents are highly encouraged to attend this informative meeting. Ski/Board Club details will be addressed including: registration forms, waivers, and payment instructions.
